Community Portal Content[edit source]

Hey everyone :) Long-time fan of Faeria, Kickstarter supporter, and contributor to Faeria beginner guides on the official forums. I came here looking for some pages designed to assist beginners. That lead me to the Community Portal and I noticed the only thing published on the Portal is instructions for adding a card to the wiki. I don't think this is a good use of the Portal page, though I think the instructions on it are definitely a necessity.

So I'm writing to propose a content edit of the Portal. I think the portal should include:

  • Section for beginner pages
  • Section for wiki editing
  • Section for Community Events

I think it would be best to have the Portal be dominated by beginner guides, since advanced players will know what they're looking for already. Plus the homepage of the wiki gives plenty of quick links to both basic and advanced info.

The Portal should be more of a community hub, engaging visitors on what's going on right now. So beginner's guides seem to be a natural theme for it.

As of this writing there are no notices on the Admin Noticeboard so I'm writing this more as a formality and to see if any other players are reading this. If you'd like to help add content to the Portal and especially pages to help beginners, please respond. You can also just contact me via twitter @trredskies .

In the meantime I'm just going to add a new page to the wiki with my beginner's guide. It's already published on the official forum and I figure it should probably be on the wiki since a lot of people don't use forums. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waruins (talkcontribs)

New template for out of date information[edit source]

I've added the template Template:Out of Date for people to use on pages which badly need updating. I've also added this to the Shop page for now since pretty much the entire page is old information. If people could add this template to the start of pages which contain old information it would be useful to help us track what to update and notify readers to be careful about the content.
